                                                              Kitchen Porter

Location:                Treble Cone, Wanaka

Job Title:                 Kitchen Porter

Responsible To:     Head Chef, Food & Beverage Manager

Position Summary:

To assist with basic food preparation across the food and beverage outlets and assist kitchen staff and food and beverage attendants with the hygienic cleaning of work spaces and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with hygienic preparation of ingredients for chefs and bakers as directed
  • Ensure efficient and hygienic cleaning and rotation of crockery and glassware, as stipulated in the Food & Beverage Kitchen manual
  • Assist kitchen staff by ensuring clean work spaces and appliances/tools for food preparation
  • Assist the Food & Beverage Manager and Head Chef with daily activities as requested
  • Ensure Treble Cone’s quality standards are maintained with respect to customer service, food content and presentation, personal presentation and outlet housekeeping as detailed in the Food & Beverage Kitchen manual
  • Understand and adhere to the Treble Cone Food Control Plan
  • Any other duties as required

Accountabilities:

  • Work with integrity to uphold Treble Cone’s core values of teamwork, honesty, professionalism and respect
  • To consistently provide exceptional Customer Service to all guests, both internal and external
  • Adhere to Treble Cone’s Staff Health and Safety Policy, Processes and in-house Safety Rules as detailed in the Staff Handbook
  • Comply with Treble Cone’s Injury Prevention programme
  • Attend all departmental and company meetings as required
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with respect to the functions and services performed for the Company
  • Maintain a neat, tidy and professional appearance at all times, in compliance with the Treble Cone Uniform and Appearance Policy
  • Demonstrate punctuality and good timekeeping by checking your required hours of work and ensuring you start work on time
  • Accurately record your times of work on a timesheet as required

Experience:

  • Experience in a similar role preferred but not essential.
  • Cleaning chemical training preferred but not essential.
  • Manual handling training preferred but not essential.

 Qualifications:

  • Culinary qualifications would be preferable

  • Have a Valid Working Visa for the duration of the season (legal right to work in NZ)
  • Have a positive and a proactive, outgoing personality.  
  • You will have a desire and willingness to learn new things
  • Be a people person (of course) – ability to engage with fellow employees and guests alike
  • Love to have FUN!!
  • Enjoys working in a supportive team environment
