Location:                          Treble Cone, Wanaka

Job Title:                                   Lift Crew

Responsible To:                     Lift Operations Team Leader, Base Operations Manager


Position Summary:

To safely and efficiently work assigned lift while providing courteous customer service to all guests.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with other operators to safely and efficiently load and unload guests on assigned lift
  • Correctly carry out start-up procedures as trained so that the lift operation in the Main Basin of the ski area is open no later than 8.50 am for the skiing public and the Saddle Basin no later than 9.15am.
  • Correctly carry out close-down procedures as trained
  • Work with the Lift Operations Team Leader in regards to providing early morning lift access for international ski race teams
  • To alert the Lift Operations Team Leader / Maintenance team to any lift faults or breakdowns as per the company manual
  • Fill out daily operations log book for assigned lift as trained
  • Maintain safe and effective crowd/queue control systems at all times
  • Maintain correct ramp heights (both load and unload)
  • Maintain presentation of lift stations and surrounding areas
  • Assist guests with any specific needs to safely load and unload the chairlifts
  • Acknowledge all guests as they pass through your station
  • Check that all guests (internal and external) have a valid lift pass before accessing the Saddle Quad chairlift
  • Actively communicate to guests how best to use their RFID pass and answer any related questions
  • Any other tasks as required


  • Must provide own work boots
  • Must provide own skis/snowboard, boots and poles
  • Immediately report any lift faults or safety concerns to Lift Operations Team Leader or Field Operations Manager
  • Acknowledge all guests as they pass through your station
  • Work with integrity to uphold Treble Cone’s core values of teamwork, honesty, professionalism and respect
  • To consistently provide exceptional Customer Service to all guests, both internal and external
  • Adhere to Treble Cone’s Staff Health and Safety Policy, Processes and in-house Safety Rules as detailed in the Staff Handbook
  • Comply with Treble Cone’s Injury Prevention programme
  • Attend all departmental and company meetings as required
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with respect to the functions and services performed for the Company
  • Maintain a neat, tidy and professional appearance at all times, in compliance with the Treble Cone Uniform and Appearance Policy
  • Demonstrate punctuality and good timekeeping by checking your required hours of work and ensuring you start work on time
  • Accurately record your times of work on a timesheet as required

Qualifications and experience:

  • Conversational English to a standard that in a work situation instructions are understood and followed

  • Have a Valid Working Visa for the duration of the season (legal right to work in NZ)
  • Have a positive and a proactive, outgoing personality.
