                                                              Groomer Operator

Location:                    Treble Cone, Wanaka

Job Title:                    Groomer Operator

Responsible To:        Grooming Team Leader, Field Operations Manager

Position Summary:

Grooming, rebuilding and packing of trails to provide a consistent, high quality skiing surface for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To carry out tasks described in the department manual including, but not limited to, preparing as many pistes as feasible per shift; maintenance of lift load and unload areas; repacking of main trails after snowfall; on-mountain transportation as requested by Field Operations Manager
  • Assist the maintenance engineers in unscheduled maintenance and emergency repair of equipment and machinery.
  • Push and groom Race Courses to a high standard for race training when required
  • Provide accurate overnight weather and snow condition reports for use in the early morning reports
  • Complete daily checks and maintenance on grooming plant as detailed in Grooming Manual
  • Complete Daily Machine Running Sheet at end of shift as detailed in Manual
  • Provide accurate and timely information on Daily Grooming Report sheet
  • Monitor road conditions during snow storm cycles and relay information to road contractors and Duty Manager as required
  • Any other duties as required

Accountabilities:

  • To ensure all required licences are updated well in advance of their expiry date
  • Follow established guidelines and procedures to complete a range of duties often with minimal or no direct supervision
  • Operate equipment and machinery efficiently, within Standard Operating Procedures and with the utmost care and attention
  • Report breakdowns and damage immediately to the Grooming Team Leader or Field Operations Manager
  • Work with integrity to uphold Treble Cone’s core values of teamwork, honesty, professionalism and respect
  • To consistently provide exceptional Customer Service to all guests, both internal and external
  • Adhere to Treble Cone’s Staff Health and Safety Policy, Processes and in-house Safety Rules as detailed in the Staff Handbook
  • Comply with Treble Cone’s Injury Prevention programme
  • Attend all departmental and company meetings as required
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with respect to the functions and services performed for the Company
  • Maintain a neat, tidy and professional appearance at all times, in compliance with the Treble Cone Uniform and Appearance Policy
  • Demonstrate punctuality and good timekeeping by checking your required hours of work and ensuring you start work on time
  • Accurately record your times of work on a timesheet as required

Qualifications:

  • NZ Heavy self-laying track license for NZ driver license holders
  • Minimum of 2 seasons groomer experience, preferably with Winch Cat
  • Proof of relevant experience or grooming license for foreign operators
