                                                            (Part Time Position)

Location:                     Treble Cone, Wanaka New Zealand

Job Title:                     Guest Services Assistant (Part Time)

Responsible To:         Guest Services Supervisor, Guest Services Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • To perform daily tasks, including phone reception, general inquiries, sales of lift passes, season pass, rentals, packages and lessons as well as keeping our guests up to date with important on-mountain updates, weather and snow conditions.
  • Communicate clearly all products, discounts, promotions in a friendly and engaging manner.
  • Handle general guest enquiries by providing efficient and accurate information at all times.
  • Accurately record the movement of Lost and Found property as required.
  • Process all sales accurately using the Intouch sales system as per departmental procedures.
  • Reconcile and balance your daily sales and forward to the Banking Assistant. 

Accountabilities:

  • To be knowledgeable about all Treble Cone products and ticket options as trained.
  • Adhere to all security procedures regarding cash storage and handling as trained.
  • Maintain a patient, confident and friendly manner with all guests at all times.
  • Have strong problem solving skills and sales experience.
  • Work with integrity to uphold Treble Cone’s core values.
  • To consistently provide outstanding Customer Service to all guests, both internal and external and to ensure they have the right information, products and the best options for our conditions.
  • Adhere to Treble Cone’s Staff Health and Safety Policy, Processes and in-house Safety Rules as detailed in the Staff Handbook.
  • Attend all departmental and company meetings as required.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with respect to the functions and services performed for the Company.
  • Maintain a neat, tidy and professional appearance at all times, in compliance with the Treble Cone Uniform and Appearance Policy.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and good timekeeping by checking your required hours of work and ensuring you start work on time.
  • Accurately record your times of work on a timesheet as required.
  • Use own discretion in resolving complaints with a good understanding and awareness of mountain and department policies with the support of Guest Services Manager.

Qualifications and experience

  • Have local knowledge of Wanaka and the tourism industry, with previous customer experience in a fast paced sales environment is desirable.
  • Experience with cash handling and balancing sales and takings is preferred.
  • Have intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
  • Background in a ski or tourism industry.

  • Be a quick thinker and problem solver with excellent attention to detail.
  • You will have a desire and willingness to learn new things
  • Be a people person (of course) – ability to engage with fellow employees and guests alike
  • Love to have FUN!!
  • Have a real passion for all things SNOW

This role is offered on a Part-time seasonal basis. Working hours will vary between 18 - 22hrs per week and you must be available to work for the entire duration of the season (June - September 2019).
