Location:                        Treble Cone, Wanaka

Job Title:                         Snowmaker

Reporting To:                 Snowmaking Team Leader, Field Operations Manager

Position Summary: To efficiently and safely produce a consistent snow product using Treble Cone’s Snowmaking system to maximize snow cover and provide a high quality snow surface for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all tasks associated with daily operation of Treble Cone’s Snowmaking system including, but not limited to, snow gun operation, water pump operation, power supply monitoring and weather monitoring, in order to consistently produce high quality snow.
  • Assist the maintenance engineers/mechanic in unscheduled maintenance and emergency repair of equipment and machinery as required.
  • Complete Snowmaking daily shift Log running sheets during the shift and complete shift log at end of shift ready for handover.
  • Complete daily water/flow monitoring as per department manual.
  • Monitor and check power plant and fill in Log sheet as per department manual.
  • Any other duties as required.

Accountabilities:

  • Ensure adequate clothing for the cold working conditions is worn.
  • Must provide own work boots suitable for Alpine conditions, and own head lamp.
  • Work with integrity to uphold Treble Cone’s core values of teamwork, honesty, professionalism and respect.
  • To consistently provide exceptional Customer Service to all guests, both internal and external.
  • Adhere to Treble Cone’s Staff Health and Safety Policy, Processes and in-house Safety Rules as detailed in the Staff Handbook.
  • Comply with Treble Cone’s Injury Prevention programme.
  • Attend all departmental and company meetings as required.
  • Operate equipment and machinery with the utmost care and attention.
  • Follow established guidelines and procedures to complete a range of duties often with minimal or no direct supervision.
  • Immediately report breakdowns and damage to the Snowmaking Team Leader or Field Operation Manager.
  • Immediately report any hazards or concerns to supervisor/ shift leader.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality with respect to the functions and services performed for the Company.
  • Maintain a neat, tidy and professional appearance at all times, in compliance with the Treble Cone Uniform and Appearance Policy.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and good timekeeping by checking your required hours of work and ensuring you start work on time.
  • Accurately record your times of work on a timesheet as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Able to speak conversational English to a standard that in a work situation instructions are understood and followed.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Experience and knowledge in Safe Manual Handling practices
